John Bradley BSc (Hons), C.Build E, MCABE

In 1980 John joined his first ventilation company, Colt International, as a company trainee on a 4-year training programme. Now, over 40 years later, he’s putting the experience and knowledge he has gained over the years to good use as a Specialist Residential Ventilation Consultant here at Cornerstone.

After leaving Colt in 1992 he spent 14 years with The Nuaire Group, most of which was as Managing Director of their residential ventilation division. He then spent a number of years as Managing Director and major shareholder of a specialist independent residential ventilation company called Positive Ventilation, which provided a full consultancy, surveying, design, supply, installation, commissioning, certification and maintenance service. Prior to joining us, he was Managing Director of Homevent, a division of Elta Fans.

John is a Chartered Building Engineer and a Member of The Chartered Association of Building Engineers. He has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Building Engineering as well as qualifications in Building Services (HVAC) and Mechanical Engineering. Prior to obtaining his degree, following the completion of his HNC in Building, John was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Chartered Institute of Building and The Glasgow Master Wrights and Builders Association/Glasgow College of Building Medal for the most outstanding performance on the course.

John has spent almost all of his career working in the ventilation industry, mainly focused on residential ventilation. He has led the development and bringing to market of many innovative ventilation products and has worked on numerous residential ventilation related projects including ones involving The Building Research Establishment (BRE), The National Housebuilding Council (NHBC) and The British Board of Agrement (BBA).

John has been deeply involved in the production of a number of residential ventilation industry Best Practice Guides, has been an active member of The Residential Ventilation Association (Part of The Federation of Environmental Trade Associations), was the creator and lead tutor of The Property Care Association’s Residential Ventilation Masterclass and lead consultant on our recently introduced Ventilation MOT®. He has authored technical papers, the most recent of which was titled “A methodical approach to assessing if an existing dwelling has ‘Adequate Ventilation’” and published in the esteemed, peer reviewed, Journal of Building Survey, Appraisal & Valuation.

John is our “Principal Technical Consultant – Residential Ventilation”. He is also the current Chairman of The Property Care Association.
